If one of your doubts is what RAM memory is, don’t worry, we’ll explain it to you.
One of the most important specifications of a computer is the RAM memory. With it we determine the muscle that the computer will have. But sometimes we come to the following question: How much RAM memory do I need? Well, today we solve it for you.

What is RAM Memory

RAM (Random Access Memory) is the main memory of a computer where the data of the programs you are currently using is temporarily stored. The two main characteristics that differentiate it from other storage is its high speed and its temporary nature.
The amount of application data you have open directly affects the performance of your device. So, if you use several applications at the same time or have a lot of browser windows open, you will consume a lot of RAM and you will need your device to have more than someone who only uses applications sporadically.
Physically Ram Memory is or are cards that are connected to the motherboard. These cards have different integrated memory modules that are connected to each other, and in devices such as computers there are slots to have several of these cards depending on your needs.

What types of RAM exist

There are two types of RAM memory. DDR (Double Data Rate) memory is characterised by the fact that it is capable of carrying out two operations per clock cycle, unlike SDR (Single Data Rate) memory, which only performs one read or write operation.

How much RAM do I need

The baseline amount of RAM in a computer is 4 GB. This is sufficient, although don’t expect to be able to have multiple applications open at the same time without affecting performance. An average configuration may require twice as much, and for more advanced gaming systems and workstations up to 16 GB or 32 GB may be necessary.
